    • As per wikipedia- “The police are a constituted body of persons empowered by the state to enforce the law, protect property, and limit civil disorder.” As such there is no set full form of police as it is a normal English word. But the full form Polite Obedient Loyal Intelligent Courageous Efficient is also commonly employed to define the various traits of Police force. In almost all the nations they are employed by the Government of the Land and hence are bounded by legitimate use of power. In many of the nations they are authorized to carry firearm. Almost in all the cases they carry a baton. The various categories of Police can be: Uniformed police, Detectives, Auxiliary, Specialized units, Military police and Religious Police.
