The Internal Revenue Service is the revenue service of the Great United States of America’s federal government. It is responsible for collecting taxes under the laws stated by Internal Revenue Code. IRS is also responsible for the interpretation and implementation of these codes.
Owing to its prime responsibility it is the part of many jokes and rebuttal in the popular media. People assume that it partakes with their hard earned money and as such the agency is an unpopular one.
IRS has come a long way since its formation in the year 1862 and has undergone a number of transformation. In 1995, with the advent of the Internet era, it started accepting the electronic filing.

Indian Revenue Service or IRS like its US counterpart is responsible for the collection of taxes on behalf of Government of India. It is the revenue service of the Government of India.
The officers of IRS are selected with the help of an annual examination known as Civil Service Examination that is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission or UPSC. Although UPSC is responsible for conducting a number of other examinations throughout the year, these exams are popularly called the UPSC exams.
