- The intelligence quotient or more popularly known as IQ is a score that decides the intelligence level of a person. It is based on a number of standardized test and was originally coined by psychologist William Stern. It is one of the most researched subject related to mankind. Various factors are attributed to effect IQ. Some of these are; hereditary, parental social status, environment and society.
Well-known modern IQ tests include Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Raven’s Progressive Matrices, Stanford-Binet, Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Cognitive Abilities, and Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children.
