    • The Indian Financial System Code is a alphanumeric code used to uniquely identify a branch of a bank. It is mainly required while transferring fund from one bank to other using either RTGS of NEFT. The format of IFSC code consists of 11-characters where the first four digits are used to identify the bank. The next 7 characters are used to identify the branch. All the banks having core banking enable have been assigned a IFSC code. The complete list of banks along with their IFSC code is available at official site of Reserve Bank of India.
