    • The Intelligence Bureau is India’s internal intelligence agency. Formed in the year 1887, it is reputedly the world’s oldest intelligence agency. It comes under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs and is headquartered at New Delhi. The official website is www.mha.nic.in. Starting with the initial responsibility of being both internal and external intelligence agency, the tasks were bifurcated in 1968, with IB made solely responsible for India’s internal intelligence only. The main responsibility of IB is to accumulate intelligence from within India and execute counter-intelligence and counter-terrorism tasks.
