    • A Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter produces an output, y(n), that is the weighted sum of the current and past inputs, x(n). It is called finite as it settles to zero in finite time or in other words its impulse response is of finite duration. They can be both discrete time or continuous time. It is in contrast to Infinite Impulse Response (IIR). It has following properties: 1. It requires no feedback 2. Can be easily designed to be linear phase 3. Are inherently stable
    • First Information Report is a legal document in countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Japan prepared by the police organizations. It is prepared by police upon receiving information about the commission of some cognizable offence. Anyone who has the know how of the offence can file the complaint and get the FIR registered including the victim of the cognizable offence. For India once an FIR has been filed then it cannot be changed except by ruling from the High Court or the Supreme Court of India.

      FIR can be filed both in written form as well in verbal form. The officer on duty will note down the content of FIR if it is spelled out verbally. Then the officer has to read back the content of the FIR to make sure that everything is okay as per the person. The person has to sign the FIR, to identify that the information written down are correct. The police officer will provide a copy of the FIR to the person filing the FIR. A police officer cannot charge anything to file and FIR.
