    • A curriculum vitae is an overview of a person, specially of his academic and professional achievements and qualifications. It is normally required to apply for a fresh jobs. The job providers uses the CV to screen individuals. Most of the people confuse CV with resume and use both the terms interchangeably. While CV is a brief account of a person’s education, qualifications etc., resume is typically a summary. Some of the other major differences are:

Size- CV is 2-3 pages long, resume is too the point and usually a page long

Usage- CV is required when applying for a grant or for academia while resume is typically used for job hunting While CV is common for all purposes, resume is typically customized to suit the individual need.

In response to the query raised by Ms Palak Arora:

How to make good CV? Dont make it too long, be concise and to the point, avoid glaring mistakes, avoid irrelevant information, dont make it too snazzy or too static.
