    • BCCI is the governing body for cricket administration in India. The headquarter of the organization is in financial capital of India- Mumbai. All the state cricket boards are affiliated to BCCI and it in turn is a member of International Cricket Council (ICC). BCCI holds a number of domestic as well international cricket tournaments involving both the Indian and International cricketers. One of the most popular tournaments organized by BCCI is Indian Premier League (IPL).

      A brief history regarding captains of Indian Cricket Team

      As of April 2014, the captain of Indian cricket team in all the three formats is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He has taken the helm from Anil Kumble in Test matches and many legendary figures have captained the Indian Cricket Team. Some of the stalwarts who have captained India are- Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Kapil Dev, Sunil Manohar Gavaskar, Saurav Ganguly, Anil Kumble and many more. The first captain of the Indian cricket team was Lala Amarnath.
