One Response to What is the full form of BCC?

While sending an email there are three fields at the top where you can enter the recipients email id. “To” field generally contains the email address of the person to whom we wish to send the email. In the “cc” field we enter the email id to whom we just want to pass on the information but don’t want them to take any action on the email. In the “bcc” field we enter the name of the person to whom we wish to share the information but we don’t wish the persons in the “To” field and “CC” field to know that the email is being sent to persons in “Bcc”. It will be clearer with an example:
To: abc, xyz
CC: pqr
Bcc: lmno, efg
Now “lmno” and “efg” will be able to see the complete email including the name of the persons in the “To” and “CC” field. But abc, xyz and pqr will not know that the email has been sent to “lmno” and “efg”. Also “lmno” will not that the email has been sent to “efg” and vice-versa.

If we wish to send the same email to a number of persons, say an email invitation for some event or getting a quotation from a number of vendors then one of the ways can be include all recipients name in the BCC field. In that way everyone will get a personalized email and also they will not come to know that the email has been sent to a number of persons. Hence this also answers the question “How to send the same email to a number of persons at once”.
